You work hard, whether it is at your actual job, finding a job, taking care of your family, dealing with physical infirmities, or trying to juggle the budget and get out of debt, or . . .
You need a break. Unless I have told you differently in our meetings, or you have had debts forgiven this year, or you have lost a house in foreclosure, or you are being sued, you should be able to take at least a little break for the holidays.
What should you be doing during that break, especially if you don’t have much money to spend? How about enjoying the kids, grandchildren, or friends? Maybe volunteering to make someone else’s life better. How about going to a church, mosque, or synagogue? Think about watching those football, hockey, or basketball games. What about those programs you DVR’d and haven’t gotten around to watching? Read a book.
Think about a subject that interests you and get some information on it. Plan next year’s vegetable and flower gardens. Contact your state or federal legislators and tell them what you think. Donate your clothes that you no longer need. Clean those areas of the house you have been wanting to and haven’t gotten around to it. There is so much you can do!
We Are Here For You
When the new year rolls around it will be time to assess your financial situation, and that is where we come in. If you are having trouble paying your bills on time or paying them at all, if you are getting calls and threats from your creditors, if you are current with everything but see dark clouds ahead, it will be time to call or email us and set up an appointment.
You can contact us now and set up the appointment for January, and you won’t have to think about it.
We want to help you sort through things, to prioritize what needs to be done and what you can ignore or put off. We want to help you develop a plan for dealing with your debt that will make you feel optimistic for the first time in a long time. But we all need a break, so take one. Enjoy the spirit of the holidays. Clear out the cobwebs. Know that right after the holidays, we are here for you.
